Recognitions
Jackie Evans Distinguished Service Award
– Jude Gagnier
The award presented to Jude was the Jackie Evans Distinguished Service
Award. Nominations are only accepted from NAEOP elected board members
and voted on in a closed meeting during the January, 2009, board
meeting. Nominees must receive 2/3 support of the elected board for
recognition.
The
guidelines state: "The Jackie Evans Distinguished Service Award is to
recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional abilities and
leadership performance, advanced and/or enhanced the professional
standing of educational office professionals, significantly improved or
elevated the standards of any of the programs of the National
Association of Educational Office Professionals, and/or demonstrated
professionalism, courage, determination, and achievement in the
performance of the responsibilities assigned to them by the Association
or volunteered by the individual."
We are all
very proud of Jude and her unmatched dedication not only to her local
association, but especially to NYSAEOP and NAEOP. Congratulations,
Jude!
NAEOP Recruiting
Award – Connie VanHoesen, 3rd place
Connie continues to
receive a recruitment award at NAEOP each year and we are so proud of
her commitment, her dedication, and having her hard work as PSP Liaison
acknowledged at the national level. Congratulations, Connie!
2nd
Place Student Scholarship – Ann “Coco” Price
As some of you may
remember, Coco’s mom attended our scholarship luncheon last year at
Peek’n Peak. It was indeed my honor to accept the NAEOP Student
Scholarship award for Coco at the NAEOP conference this summer. Coco is
originally from Jamestown, which is very close to where I live, and
originally, and first received the CCAEOP, my local association’s,
scholarship award. We all can be very proud of how well this young lady
has done. I would love to accept another student scholarship award in
Kansas City next year!
1st
Place Website Award – Rose Bain, Webmaster
You should have heard
the screams from not only me, but all the NYSAEOP members in attendance
at the NAEOP annual meeting this summer when NYSAEOP was announced as
the 1st place website award winner! Ok, so we tied with
another state for top honors, but man, how excited we were!
NAEOP
Secretary/Treasurer – Cathy Eberle
What an honor to have
one of our own members sit on the stage as a National main-line
officer! Cathy was installed as Secretary/Treasurer of NAEOP this
summer and I, for one, am so proud of her. She’s come a long way in our
association, from attending her first conference all by herself, being
the lone representative from NYC, to becoming a NYSAEOP Region Director,
to NAEOP NE Area Director, now NYSAEOP Vice President and NAEOP
Secretary/Treasurer. We’re all so very proud of you, Cathy, and wish
you well as you take on this new challenge. Congratulations!
